eScapism is a series of paintings depicting scapes of the tropical rainforest region where I live in Cairns, Australia. Inspired by the lush greenery and mountains, tropical flora and fauna, scenes of the cane fields and horse farms, the nearby sandy beaches and coral reef as well as suburban scenes. This desire to paint the beautiful paradise in which I live has been depicted in landscapes, seascapes, streetscapes and skyscapes . I wish to communicate the essence of these scenes, the tranquility, pristine and serene environment, a sense of relaxation and most importantly, feeling the sense of escape...being able to immerse yourself and escape in the scape.
